May 13 2015
Emerging South Korean label, Grace Raiment bears freshness and quiet edginess, making it one of the best Korean indie labels to watch out for. SocietyA discovered Grace Raiment at the SS15 Seoul Fashion Week and believed that the label’s chic, classic silhouettes and light fabrics are certain to be a hit amongst shoppers in the South East Asia due to its tropical climates.
The creative mind behind the label is Kim So Jung, a woman in her 20s who has a flair for creating unique and statement but wearable pieces that will give you an instant style lift. Since young, So Jung knew that her passion and interest lies in fashion and undertook Fashion design/ Fiber art Bachelor Degree at EWHA Women’s University. During her school days, she interned at VOGUE Korea and garnered much valuable experiences. Upon graduation, she worked at New York JnY as the Production Assistant. In 2009, she continued her destiny with VOUGE Korea and worked on “PRADA transform” where she made costume for the project. In the same year, she showcased her collection in Seoul Fashion Week Fall/Winter under upcoming designer fashion show. So Jung continued her collection and gathered more inspiration over the years and launched her brand Grace Raiment in 2011. Her collection is based on minimal romanticism with wit and restrained style free from ostentation; Exclusive style touched by judicious fabrics and colour mixing harmonized with daily life.
