Unlike your typical florist, Ng Yi Lian didn’t start her floral designing business after attending floral schools.
She was born into a family of flowers and was academically and professionally trained as a fashion editor and journalist. Yi Lian Ng Floral Atelier was started while she was still working as a fashion new editor for the Singapore edition of Harper’s BAZAAR and realized her flair for floral styling was an accumulation from her fashion exposure to colours, silhouettes and proportions. She translate her experiences during her stint at Harper’s BAZAAR to create her original floral arrangements and hosting floral workshops.
