The Collection
Inspired by her love for the movie Edward Scissorhands, South Korean designer Minju Kim wanted to retell the story through her collection. In particular, the scene where the title character felt loved and had to leave his loved ones during Christmas struck the designer with a sense of sadness. Through her collection – titled “Edward’s Christmas” – Minju wanted to create a collection in which she could then imagine an alternate reality where Edward Scissorhands felt loved during this season of joy. Prints inspired by the paper garlands from the movie light up MINJUKIM’s signature bouffant shapes, while a mixture of pastels and black speak to a goth-meets-childhood naivete inspired by the movie.
