Sean Sheila presents “Naluri” this season, an Indonesian word that translates into desire. Taking a deeper look into Indonesian traditional craft and culture and finding new ways to explore the contrasting techniques of traditional and modern garments/textiles, traditional notions of elegance are set against the deliberately uncompromising. Here, gentle deconstructions that slowly unfurl around the figure are met with Japanese produced linen and hand embroidered batik motifs.
