The Collection
The concept behind MINJUKIM Spring/Summer 2022 collection is “BARI”. “BARI” is the only god in the Korean mythology that travels between the underworld and earth. Inspired by the love and courage shown in the tales of “BARI”, MINJUKIM tries to convey a new ethnicity by emphasizing a new silhouette and Korean influence through her collection. The print of MINJUKIM’s fabrics features the shape of traditional patterns and knots through graphics, while the use of jacquard to develop checked pattern fabric is a nod to “HANBOK”. The fresh and minimalistic silhouettes are also developed by referencing the proportions of a “HANBOK”. She wants to highlight the characteristics of form and volume from the fun and beautiful Empire lines of a “HANBOK” for this uniquely Korean story.
