Metal Bow Glasses

Thin metal wire does the work on the Metal Bow Glasses: a light silver-tone frame with clear lenses, wide at the top and tapering toward the nose, and a single small bow at the lower outer corner of the lens. The frame measures 15.3 cm by 6.1 cm, with 145 mm temples, and the spec lists a weight of 24.4 g.

The spec lists stainless steel, brass, 18K gold plating and cubic zirconia. The metal in the photos is a silver tone, so the plating line is shared spec text. The bow is the only decorative part visible in the flat photos, and the frame is otherwise plain wire.

Five photos show it: a front view, two angled views and two worn shots. In the worn shots the model has pink hair with a straight fringe, a black bow tied at the throat, and a pale pink strapless top printed with a large bow. Three bows appear in the picture, on the glasses, at the neck and on the top, and the glasses carry the smallest one.

A thin frame suits a look where you want the glasses visible but not heavy. The lenses are clear, so the eyes stay in view, and the frame draws a fine line around them. With a styling like the photos, the bow on the frame is easy to miss at a distance, and it is only visible when someone is close, which is a good fit for a detail kept small.

At 24.4 g it is lighter than the 27.5 g to 40 g listed for the other glasses in this collection, so it is a reasonable choice for long wear. The frame is wide, at 15.3 cm, but shallow at the sides, so it looks wider than tall in the photos.

Wire frames bend, so handle them by the arms, keep them in a case, and wipe the lenses with a soft cloth. A loose pair in a bag can bend out of shape.
