The Gift Bow Vintage Clip in Gold is a small ribbon bow in satin-finish gold, folded into two loops with a knot at the centre and two tails that curl outward. The metal has a soft, slightly frosted sheen rather than a mirror shine, so the folds of the ribbon show without hard reflections.
Behind the bow sits the clip itself, a slim metal fitting that holds a small section of hair in place. In the first photo you can see its loop coming out at the left edge of the bow. The product spec lists brass with 18K gold plating. Like other plated pieces, it lasts longest if you keep hairspray and oils off the surface and wipe it with a soft cloth after wearing.
In the YVMIN photos several of these are worn at once in a curly updo, set in a loose line down the side of the head, with a gold bow earring at the ear. Used that way the bows read as a trail of small accents rather than one large barrette, and the repeated shape ties the head together.
A single clip is enough to mark a side parting or pin back a loose strand behind the ear. Two or three, spaced about a finger apart, suit twists and low buns, and a small section of hair works better than a thick one because the bow sits flat against the head instead of tilting. On fine or straight hair, clip close to the scalp. On thick or curly hair, slide the clip in along the direction the hair grows and the bow stays upright.
