The collar is the feature of the Black Beaded Dropped Collar Dress. It is cut loose and falls in a soft cowl across the chest, held up by two thin straps. From there the dress narrows into a slim midi, ruched through the waist and hip.
The spec says the beads are stitched by hand. They sit in small dots and short vertical dashes that cover the dress in rows, and because they are black on black they read as texture and a slight shine rather than as colour. The shell is 100% polyester with an acetate-blended inner layer, and in the photos a sheer panel of the outer fabric hangs below the inner layer at the hem.
The back is the surprise. It drops very low, close to the waist, with the two straps running straight down from the shoulders, and there is a slit at the centre of the back hem. None of that is visible from the front, which makes the dress look simple until the wearer turns around.
The lookbook shows it with heeled sandals in navy and red and small gold earrings, and nothing else. The dress carries the look on its own, since the beadwork, the drape and the open back already supply the interest. The product notes call it an ideal base layer that works alone or for formal events. For colder evenings, a coat worn open would cover the back without hiding the front of the dress.
Hand-stitched beads and a sheer hem layer both catch easily. Store the dress flat or folded with tissue between the layers, keep it away from hook-and-loop fasteners and rough jewellery, and check the garment’s care label before washing or dry cleaning.
