Description

Jacques Wei Fall/Winter 2026
The Dark Brown Leather Paneled Drawstring Baggy Pants are cut very full through the leg in a dark espresso satin, then pulled in at the ankle with a drawstring so the hem balloons over the foot.

The fabric is an acetate-blended satin with a soft matte sheen rather than a high shine, and the hem is panelled in sheepskin leather, which is what gives the ankle its structure.

The waist is gathered on elastic, and the volume starts right below it: the satin falls in long, loose folds from hip to ankle instead of holding a crease. The cut is wide enough that the fabric is not tight at the leg.

Part of the Jacques Wei Fall/Winter 2026 collection. Founded in 2010, the label works from couture-inspired technique and masculine tailoring, and here that shows up as an unexpected pairing: workwear-style trousers made from satin, finished with leather.

In the product photos the trousers are worn with a fitted, plain white sleeveless top tucked in at the waist. With this much volume below, a close-fitting top keeps the outline balanced.

The gathered ankle sits above a heeled sandal rather than covering it, so a pointed or open shoe works better than a chunky sole.

Because the legs are cut wide and the hem is gathered, the Dark Brown Leather Paneled Drawstring Baggy Pants can be worn as an everyday trouser or dressed up with a silk or satin top for the evening.

From behind, the elastic waist gathers the satin into small ruffles all the way round, and the legs hang down the back with the same fullness as the front.

Where the leather meets the satin, the surface goes from fluid to firm, so the gathered hem keeps its round shape instead of collapsing around the ankle. Leather is also the more durable material, which suits a hem that sits right at the shoe.
