Up close, the Burgundy Floral Beaded Wool Cardigan is more about the beadwork than the knit. White flowers with black centres are embroidered across the front, each one a ring of beads fanning out from the middle, with small scattered beads and short dashes of stitching filling the space between them.

The knit is a deep burgundy with a heathered, slightly flecked look. The product notes list it as wool and stress its warmth for autumn and winter. It has a round neck, a row of small dark buttons down the front, and a neckline traced in tiny white stitches and beads. At each cuff, a small beaded motif repeats the flowers on the chest.

In the photos it sits close to the body and ends at the waist, with sleeves that narrow at the cuff. That makes it a cardigan to wear over a skirt or high-waisted trousers rather than as a long outer layer, and it leaves the waistline of whatever is underneath visible.

The lookbook buttons it over a pink-purple satin mini with a gold lace hem, so the lace edge shows below the cardigan, and adds sheer black tights and navy heeled sandals. The burgundy knit and the gold lace sit in warm tones, with the white flowers as the only light colour in the outfit. The same cardigan appears in the lookbook for the burgundy sequin panel skirt, worn there with a dark lattice skirt and gold sandals.

Beadwork on wool rewards careful handling. Fold the cardigan rather than hanging it, so the weight of the beads does not stretch the knit, and use the care label to decide between hand washing and dry cleaning.
